On  September 14th, N1 Basketball was presented with a mysterious package  by the Park Avenue custodial staff, which was found to contain an  illegal substance. This discovery was shocking to both our program and  school officials. We immediately contacted local authorities, including  the Freehold Boro Police Department, to investigate and file a report.  After providing our statement and fully cooperating with the  investigation, the Freehold Boro Police Department concluded that there  is NO ongoing criminal investigation and NO involvement or connection  between the N1 Basketball program and this package. They also noted a  growing pattern in which youth organizations are being used to obscure  illegal cross-border activities.

We  were shocked and saddened by the Freehold Boro School Board’s decision  despite the findings of the police report.  We believe this decision was  a knee-jerk reaction, and we are actively working with the school to  issue a corrective response.

The  N1 Basketball program is not only a victim of identity theft but also  mail fraud. To add insult to injury, this incident was unfairly  displayed to the community, despite the fact that it could have happened  to any program.

To  our supporters, parents, players, and friends, we thank you for  standing by us and helping to defend the program’s reputation.

Thank  you ALL for showing your unwavering support. We stand firm in our  position, backed by the conclusions of the police report. 

To  all those who have reached out personally asking how to help, I suggest  sending an email or making a phone call to the Freehold Boro  Superintendent and School 

Board members to question their actions.  Why  was a notice sent to the district with such implications?  And even  worse, why would they unfairly post this on social media without telling  the complete story?

Administrators  must be held accountable for their decisions. In our opinion, their  actions are an attempt to save face after the fallout of the school’s reputation in recent months. Whether they fully understood the impact on  our youth program or not, they should know that we are united in  correcting this injustice. 

Our  program has formally requested a meeting with school officials to  discuss this matter further. Unfortunately, nothing has been scheduled  by the school at this time.

N1 Basketball and its supporters attended the public board meeting and respectfully requested reinstatement for permitted access to the Park Ave facility. Supporters also voiced their opinions and concerns over the reckless handling and short-sighted decision to deny the program school access.

 The Freehold Boro School Board stated that they would provide a follow-up, corrected statement in the near future. However, they continue to deny access and admit to any wrongdoing, despite the findings in the police report. In response, the N1 program has secured counsel and is prepared to take legal action.
